About this Location

During the summer of 2011, Kaibab Lake Campground underwent a major renovation. Improvements to the campground included new pavement, new parking spurs, new campsite amenities such as fire rings and picnic tables, more day-use parking for improved fishing access, improved ramadas, additional small-group capacity, a re-designed overnight group camping area, and a new camping loop with an additional 11 campsites. The entrance road to the campground was also improved. So, if you haven’t been to Kaibab Lake Campground recently, it’s time to plan a visit!

Kaibab Lake is a lovely place to spend a few hours or a few days. It is located just a couple of miles outside the City of Williams in the Williams Ranger District. The lake is a popular spot for fishing. The area around the campground offers sightseeing as well. The Grand Canyon is just 60 miles away. In addition, a number of forest attractions are easily accessible from the campground. Kaibab Lake is also a popular area to join friends or family for a picnic in the cool pines.

The campground is about 4 miles (6.5 km) northeast of Williams off AZ-64. From Williams, take I-40 east 2 miles to Exit 165; turn north onto AZ-64 and go about a half-mile to the campground entrance on your left. Paved and all-weather, graveled roads are suitable for passenger cars.
