About this Location

Artichoke Reservoir was created in 1906 by damming the Artichoke River, a tributary of the Merrimack River. The reservoir covers an area of 69 acres and has a maximum depth of 18 feet. It is used for recreation, fishing, and wildlife habitat. 

Middle Street crosses the Artichoke Reservoir. Lower Artichoke Reservoir is north of Middle Street, Upper Artichoke Reservoir is to the south.

The Withers Conservation Area and the Artichoke Dairy are adjacent to the reservoir.
