The Lochmere Dam is a hydroelectric facility located in Belmont, New Hampshire, at the outlet of Silver Lake. The dam is owned by the State of New Hampshire and operated by Eagle Creek Renewable Energy. The dam was built in 1986 and has four submersible turbine/generator units that produce about 4.1 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy per year. The dam also controls the downstream flows of the Winnipesaukee River. The area near the dam is part of the Lochmere Archaeological District, which contains evidence of prehistoric cultures dating back to the Middle Archaic period.

Silver Lake is a natural freshwater lake that covers an area of 216 acres and has a maximum depth of 47 feet. The lake is popular for fishing, boating, swimming, and camping. There are two public beaches on the lake, one at the north end and one at the south end.
Silver Lake is bordered by the town of Tilton on the west and the town of Belmont on the east. The islands in the lake are in the town of Tilton.
