The Baker Floodwater Reservoir formed by the Hildreth Dam is on Mount Moosilauke Highway (NH-25). There is a canoe launch on the southeast side of the reservoir.

The reservoir was built in 1942 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as part of a flood control project for the Pemigewasset River basin. The reservoir has a capacity of 37,000 acre-feet and covers an area of 1,200 acres.
