About this Location

Beaver Lake is a small lake in Derry and is 2 miles from the center of town. The lake is 150 acres in size with a shallow shoreline reaching approximately 40 feet at its deepest point.

There are approximately 130 waterfront properties around the lake, some are seasonal cottages but the majority are now year-round homes.

There are 3 major tributaries that feed into Beaver Lake and one outlet becomes Beaver Brook. Beaver Brook travels through the heart of Derry, down through Londonderry, and continues all the way to Lowell, MA where it joins the Merrimack River.

Beaver Lake is host to Gallien’s Town Beach and a state-owned Public Boat Launch. Gallien’s Town Beach is open to Derry Residents and their guests and is operated by Derry Parks and Recreation. NH Fish and Game is responsible for public-access boating and fishing sites in New Hampshire and maintains the ramp on Beaver Lake. When visiting Beaver Lake via the Boat Launch you are likely to encounter one of our staff or volunteer Lake Hosts. Lake Hosts act as ambassadors for the lake raising awareness and checking boats for invasive hitchhikers such as Eurasian Milfoil.
