The island is 27 acres in size and is owned by the city of Portsmouth. It separates the Piscataqua River from the “South End” of Portsmouth. It holds many aesthetic views including salt marshes, tidal pools, rocky cliffs, and meadows. There are also several activities such as an outdoor pool, walking paths, playgrounds, and boat launches.
