About Wheatfields Lake
Wheatfields Lake, located on Indian Route 12 south of Tsaile, is one of the most popular destinations for fishing, camping, and picnicking in the heart of the Navajo nation.

Wheatfields Lake is a lake in Apache County near the base of the Chuska Mountains, managed as a cold-water fishery, and located east of Canyon de Chelly National Monument.

Fishing can yield rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and brown trout, so try your hand at fly fishing, spinning, or baitcasting. You can cast a line just a few feet off the road, or drive to the opposite side of the lake and launch a fishing boat, for trolling only. Either way, you’re sure to enjoy your day by the water.
