About Quailway Cottage
Quailway Cottage, named for the Gambel’s Quail that are year-round residents, is nestled midway between the Peloncillo Mountains in southwestern New Mexico and the Chiricahua Mountains in southeastern Arizona.
The cottage, at a 4,500-foot elevation, is located five miles from the Cave Creek area near Portal, Arizona, on 80 acres of secluded, private land.
It is a desert haven for a variety of birds and wildlife and offers an opportunity for unlimited star gazing.

About Portal
Portal is a tiny community on the eastern slope of the Chiracahuas and is a very popular birding area. In fact, there are places of lodging that cater specifically to the needs and interests of birders.
