About Cataract Lake
This popular fishing lake is located on the Williams Ranger District about 1 mile northwest of Williams on Cataract Lake Road. The area was formerly a campground. Overnight camping is no longer authorized. However, the area is open for day-use activities such as fishing and picnicking.

Facilities at the lake include a toilet, picnic tables, and garbage bins.

From Williams, turn north onto 7th Street. After crossing the railroad tracks, turn west at the first road and go about 1 mile to the entrance on your right. The paved and all-weather graveled roads are suitable for passenger vehicles.

If you are traveling from I-40, take exit 161. Turn right onto Golf Course Drive if coming from the east, or left if coming from the west. After passing under the railroad tracks, turn right immediately and go about 1 mile to the entrance on your left. This route is not suitable for large RVs.
