Bournes Pond is a coastal lagoon that covers an area of about 248 acres and has a maximum depth of 9 feet. The pond is connected to the Vineyard Sound by a narrow inlet that is spanned by a bridge. Bournes Pond is part of the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, which aims to protect and restore the ecological integrity of the pond and its watershed.
Bournes Pond is a long pond that extends from East Falmouth Highway (MA-28) on the north to Menauhant on the south.
