Child's River is a small stream in the town of Falmouth. It originates from Coonamessett Pond and flows southward for about 3.5 miles, passing through several cranberry bogs and wetlands, before emptying into Waquoit Bay. The river is home to a variety of wildlife, including fish, birds, turtles, and otters. The river also provides recreational opportunities for kayaking, fishing, and birdwatching. The river is named after John Child, an early settler who owned land along its banks in the 17th century.
