Big Pond covers an area of about 330 acres and has a maximum depth of 58 feet. The lake is popular for recreational activities such as boating, fishing, swimming, and camping. There are several public access points and a boat ramp on the eastern shore. 

Otis Town Beach is on the northwest side of the lake.
