Shaker Mill Pond is a very shallow pond that can be weed-bound late in the year. Private land encircles the entire pond except for the dam to the south end where the water exits into the Williams River. This and the other ponds in the area are the sources of the Williams River, which travels 11 miles to the Housatonic River in van Deusenville (an area of Great Barrington).
At the very north end, characterized by wetlands, a small stream enters the pond.
