Long Beach stretches for about a mile and a half along the Atlantic Ocean, offering views and a variety of activities. Visitors can enjoy swimming, surfing, fishing, kayaking, or simply relaxing on the sand. Long Beach also has a boardwalk, a playground, and several restaurants and shops nearby. The beach is open year-round, but the peak season is from Memorial Day to Labor Day, when lifeguards are on duty and parking fees are charged.
Off of Rockport Road and spanning both Gloucester and Rockport, Long Beach is a sandy beach lined with cottages known for its good surf and gorgeous sunrise views of the twin lighthouses. There is a fee for parking.
