Long Wharf Landing is a historic site in Gloucester that was once the center of the city's maritime trade and fishing industry. The wharf was built in 1764 and expanded over the years to accommodate the growing number of ships and merchants. The landing was also the scene of several important events in the American Revolution, such as the capture of a British schooner by local patriots in 1775. Today, Long Wharf Landing is a popular tourist attraction and a reminder of Gloucester's rich maritime heritage.
Long Wharf extends into the Jones River Salt Marsh. Long Wharf Landing is maintained by the Town of Gloucester.
