About Pikul Farm
A former dairy farm on MA-1A bordering coastal forest and salt marsh, the Pikul property was protected in 1998, when the Agricultural Resources purchased an Agricultural Preservation Restriction (APR). The APR eliminates future development on 88 acres of the property but leaves the land in private hands for continued farming. The Pikul Farm APR covers areas that are above 15 feet in elevation. Rowley’s restrictive floodplain bylaw essentially eliminates development on the lower lying land.
