Conway State Forest, 1,920 acres, was established in 1916 to protect the watershed of Lake Rohunta, which is the town's drinking water reservoir. The forest has two separate sections: one near Bardwell's Ferry Bridge and the other along the old Conway Electric Street Railway line. The forest offers recreational opportunities including hiking, biking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The property has 7 miles of public trails.
The AllTrails website has descriptions and maps of hikes at Conway State Forest.
