About this Location

Grist Millpond is a scenic and historic attraction in Sudbury. It is part of the Wayside Inn Historic Site, which dates back to 1716 and was immortalized by poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The pond was created by a dam built by Ezekiel Howe in 1740 to power his grist mill, which still operates today and sells flour to visitors.

The Grist Mill Pond Area conservation property is owned by the Sudbury Valley Trustees.
