Ridgelawn Cemetery was established in 1855 as a rural cemetery, following the model of Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge. The cemetery covers 66 acres of land and contains over 20,000 graves, including those of prominent citizens, veterans, and immigrants. The cemetery is also notable for its landscape design, which features winding paths, rolling hills, mature trees, and ornamental plantings. The cemetery is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is open to the public for visitation and research.
