About this Location

Christopher Columbus Park is situated on the waterfront, near the historic North End and Faneuil Hall. The park was created in 1976 as part of the city's urban renewal project, and was named after the Italian explorer who is credited with discovering America. The park features a rose garden, a fountain, a playground, and a granite arch that commemorates the city's Italian-American heritage. The park is also a popular venue for concerts, festivals, and other events throughout the year.

Christopher Columbus Park is a short walk from the North End along Boston’s waterfront to this large park that includes a playground.

The park is also the perfect spot for a family picnic and is not far from Fanueil Hall where you can pick up sandwiches to go. The area also boasts a beautiful rose garden, a dedication to Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy who was born nearby, as well as plenty of room for the kids to run around and burn off some energy.
