Doherty Playground is located in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. It covers an area of 5.6 acres and features a baseball field, a basketball court, a playground, and a spray pool. The park was established in 1897 and named after John J. Doherty, a local politician and civic leader. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk and is maintained by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department.
