Pope John Paul II Park is located in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. The park was created in 2001 on the site of a former landfill and covers 66 acres of land along the Neponset River. The park features walking trails, athletic fields, playgrounds, a spray park, and a memorial to Pope John Paul II, who visited Boston in 1979. The park is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and is open year-round.
