Dark Brook Reservoir

About this Location

Dark Brook Reservoir, also called “Electric Pond” is a 243-acre warm water impoundment of Dark Brook. The Massachusetts Turnpike transects the pond, but a large passable culvert connects the two sections of the pond. Water is stained, with transparency of only three feet. The mean depth is 9 feet and the maximum depth is 17 feet.

Public access is provided to the southern portion by a cartop access on West Street across from the Randall School. Access to the northern portion is also available along the dam on Leicester Street.
