Official WebsiteAt Pierpont Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary, nature has reclaimed parts of this former farmland that was, at one time, entirely cleared for agricultural purposes.
Stone walls still stand amidst pine groves and along the edge of meadows. Valuable shrubland provides nesting habitat for some declining bird species such as the Brown Thrasher and Eastern Towhee.
Explore 0.75 miles of trails at Pierpont Meadow. There is a pond viewing area along the George Marsh Trail. Look for stone walls amidst pine groves and along the edges of meadows, a remnant of the farmland that used to be here. Beavers can be detected at the small pond on Marsh Road.
