About Prospect Park
Prospect Park is the site of the former Juniper Hall and the Whittall mansion and estate, which offers both paved walks and 2.3+ miles of scenic wooded trails. The stonework remains of formal gardens near the top of the hill offer a glimpse of the Park’s past. This historic park offers individuals the opportunity to explore 71 acres and many trails.
Prospect Park’s main entrance can be reached by taking MA-140 north from Main Street and bearing right onto Prospect Street just after the library. A short way down on the left you will find the entrance. There is parking both outside and within the stone entrance. Check out the information kiosk, which posts old photos of the mansion and gardens.
This is also the start of the estate’s old driveway, which is still paved and kept in good shape. Joggers and dog walkers tend to stay on this road that is now called the Meeting House Hill Trail. There are also connecting woodland trails to the left that parallel this road and reconnect with the road near the water tanks at the top of the hill.
