Post Pond covers about 114 acres and is surrounded by forested hills and wetlands. It is part of the Connecticut River watershed and drains into Grant Brook, an important stream system in Lyme.

Post Pond is located on NH-10 in Lyme. The Post Pond Preserve on Post Pond Lane has a public beach and boat launch.
