About this Location

The Tarr Wildlife Sanctuary was created in 1993 by lifelong Bedford resident Florence Tarr through her estate and was managed by a trust established by Ms. Tarr until 2017 when Piscataquog Land Conservancy took ownership of this 332-acre property.

This 332.3-acre property is located on Joppa Hill Road along the boundary of Bedford and Goffstown. Key features are trails, beaver ponds, mature forests, and Mountain Laurel.

From Back Mountain Road in Goffstown, turn south onto Joppa Hill Road. The main entrance is 0.4 miles on the right. From New Boston Road in Bedford, turn north onto Joppa Hill Road. The main entrance is 1 mile on the left. There is parking along Joppa Hill Road at two pull-off spots.
