Tips for birding Fremont Road
From NH-101 exit 7, take NH-125 north for 0.3 miles. Turn left at the Walgreens and go 0.2 miles, turn left on Railroad Avenue and go 0.4 miles. At the stop sign, Fremont Road begins. Follow it for 1.0 mile to the Rail Trail crossing (orange gates) where a few cars can park alongside the road. Walk east on Rail Trail past gate about 100 yards to the swamp.

From NH-101 exit 6, take Depot Road north 0.4 mile. Turn right onto Jenness Road and go 1.1 mile, where the name changes to Fremont Road. Continue 0.1 mile to the Rail Trail crossing (orange gates) where a few cars can park alongside the road. Walk east on Rail Trail past gate about 100 yards to the swamp.

Target Birds: Spring/summer/fall birding. Waterfowl, swamp birds, Cooper’s Hawk, Eastern Phoebe, Green Heron, Tree Swallow, Blackbirds, various passerines during migration season (Palm Warbler, Cedar Waxwing).

Description: A decent-sized swamp with many dead and fallen trees, and some marshy areas. Shrubs along Rail Trail, and woods on other side of trail.
