To reach the trailhead for the Bear Canyon Arroyo Trail, from I-40, head North on Tramway for about 6 miles to Spain Road Northeast. Turn right (east) on Spain and follow it for 0.9 miles. Turn right on High Desert Street and follow it for about 500 feet. The trailhead is on the right. Parking is limited. Water is available.

This is a nice day hike, easily accessible from the surrounding residential areas. The surface is hard-packed sand. If done as an out-and-back there is a deceiving calf burner on the way back.
