About this Location

The Ute Creek Bridge is on County Road C.

This spot, also called Ute Creek Crossing, lies just north of Ute Lake State Park. The bridge on state land is the best site in Harding County to spot a variety of waterfowl during migration and winter. Be sure to scan muddy areas for migrating shorebirds. As you drive on Trigg Road, look for Northern Bobwhite. This species is sparse and patchily distributed in southern Harding County.

From Logan, head northwest on NM-39 for about a mile to the Harding County line. Continue about another mile and turn left on Trigg Road. (Warning: do not drive this dirt road after heavy rain.) Continue west 4 miles to the bridge. Stay on the bridge to avoid trespassing on private land nearby.
