About Las Palomas Marsh
Las Palomas Marsh is a natural area that is protected and managed for aquatic and riparian habitats. Depending on water levels, the area offers good shore and marsh birding; desert scrub bird species are numerous in the winter. You can also walk to the Rio Grande/Caballo Reservoir (depending on water levels) from the marsh area. Adjacent lands include excellent opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.

Take I-25 to Exit 71 (Las Palomas). Head east for 0.7 miles to the frontage road. Turn left for 0.2 miles. Turn right on a gravel road for 0.8 miles, bear to your left, and find a place to park.
