Shaftsbury Lake is in Shaftsbury State Park.

Shaftsbury Lake (27 acres) is a site for the Vermont LoonWatch annual survey. Birders are encouraged to volunteer as often and whenever they are able. See Join LoonWatch for details.

Shaftsbury State Park is on an 84-acre parcel surrounding the small but picturesque Lake Shaftsbury. The area operated as a private campground and cabin resort before it became a state park in 1974. It has become a popular park facility in southwestern Vermont.
