About this Location

The Burlington Greenway (Bike Path) is the crown jewel of the park system and is an immensely popular attraction during the summer, fall and spring, and, increasingly, the winter months. Eight miles of paved path, with aggregate shoulders for runners and walkers, the path runs from just south of Oakledge park to the Winooski River to the north, and along the way runs through and connects many major parks and facilities situated on the Lake Champlain shoreline. The path also connects many residential neighborhoods and is situated close to several commercial districts.

This paved path is part of the longer Island Line Trail. The northern end finishes with a few miles of packed gravel on a narrow causeway, making for a spectacular view. Take the seasonal Bike Ferry to continue riding into the islands!

Parking and restrooms (seasonal) are available at several points along the path.
