About Braintree Mountain Forest
In 2013 Paul Kendall and his wife Sharon Rives donated 1,547-acres to the New England Forestry Foundation (NEFF). The parcel is known today as the Braintree Mountain Forest. Located off of Riford Brook Rd in Braintree, VT the parcel includes a vast portion of the Braintree Range with four peaks rising up to 3,030 feet. The peaks are known (south to north) as Round Top, Twin Peaks, Skidoo, and Braintree Mtn (aka 30-30). The Ridgeline Outdoor Collective has been collaborating with NEFF to develop gladed backcountry ski and ride zones along the eastern flanks of these peaks.
Trailhead parking and kiosk is located at the intersection of Riford Brook Rd and Laroque Rd in Braintree, VT. If the trailhead parking is full please do not park along the town road. Winter use is for Backcountry Skiing/Snowboarding and Snowshoeing. No motorized vehicles or mountain biking is permitted at BMF. Be sure to become a member of the Ridgeline Outdoor Collective and ‘earn your turns’ by attending one of our volunteer glading days!
