About this Location

Fairlee Town Forest is a part of the Brushwood Forest, a large block of undeveloped public and private forest land in east-central Vermont. The town forest covers about 1,000 acres and offers over 20 miles of public trails for hiking, biking, skiing, and snowshoeing.

The forest has a diverse mix of hardwood and softwood trees, such as birch, maple, oak, pine, hemlock, and fir. It also has a network of over 80 acres of pristine wetlands that provide habitat for many wildlife species, including songbirds, deer, beavers, and amphibians.

Fairlee Town Forest is managed by the town and the Friends of Fairlee Forest, a volunteer group that promotes sustainable forestry, conservation, and recreation.

The Cross Rivendell Trail passes through the Fairlee Town Forest.
