A lake with the potential for spring and fall waterfowl fallout. The public road on the north side of the lake offers views and a few pullouts for short-term parking. A spotting scope is very helpful.

Lake Fairlee is a natural lake that covers 457 acres of land. It was enlarged in 1939 by damming a tributary of the Ompompanoosuc River. The lake is popular for water sports such as sailing, wakeboarding, water skiing, canoeing and kayaking. It is also home to four children's camps that offer summer programs on the lake. The lake is surrounded by scenic hills and forests.

This freshwater pond and its surrounding watershed display remarkable diversity. The varied habitats for plants and animals provide unique nurture in themselves. In addition, the juxtaposition between field and forests, land and water, wetland and stream create seasonal and varied life cycles that take advantage of more than one habitat. Many animals and plants survive the winter via the protection of the lake. The forest retreats provide safe hibernation for animals of all classes.
