Tips for Birding

The Ainsworth Farm is entirely privately owned and is open to hunting, in season. Parking is available near the large barn on the east side of VT-14. Most bird habitat is in the fields on the west side of the highway. Be careful crossing here! The farm is in the towns of Royalton and Sharon, Vermont. A small pond hosts a variety of waterfowl in season, and the fields, when crops are off, can be good for waterfowl as well as sparrows, longspurs, and snow buntings. The farm borders the White River and birders can find several spots to get a look at the river from the field.
